Maru Braemer is currently the Director of Berry Operations for Sun Belle Inc. Maru’s career at Sun Belle Inc. began in 2004 as the logistics coordinator for international procurement. Maru, under the guidance of Janice Honigberg, President and Founder of Sun Belle, was promoted to logistics and grower coordinator to support the Sun Belles year-round berry operation before becoming director of berry operations. Throughout her fourteen years at Sun Belle, Maru continues to learn all aspects of the berry business. Maru studied Agroindustrial Engineering at the Autonomous Chapingo University in Mexico and began her career as international sales manager for Monarch Farms, one of the largest exporters of flowers in Mexico. She then moved to the Chicago area and worked at The Flower Company in procurement and transportation. In 2013, Maru established the Kidsave Chicago Chapter to help Colombian youth living in foster care and orphanages connect with potential adoptive families in the US. She and her husband are now the proud adoptive mom of two siblings they met through Kidsave. Maru was born and raised in Peru, and is bilingual in Spanish and English. Sun Belle Inc. is a certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
