Dan Brake is Sr. Director, Engineering for the Power Generation Division of NextEra Energy Resources, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc. With more than 12,000 MW installed wind and more than 1,000 MW or solar PV, NextEra Energy Resources is the largest owner and operator of renewable power in the United States. He has held this position since July 2007. Mr. Brake holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida. He also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Mr. Brake is actively involved in Wind Standards thru AWEA and IEC. In 2013, Mr. Brake was awarded the IEC 1906 award for his work with TC88 – Wind Turbine Standards and again awarded the IEC 1906 award for his work with IECRE – Wind Turbine Conformity Assessment in 2015.
