Claudia Pizarro-Villalobos is a native of Salinas, CA. She received her bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and upon graduating from CAL, returned to Salinas to work for the AmeriCorps/America Reads Program at Hartnell College. After working three years at Hartnell she moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard University’s 9-month intensive master’s program. She was selected to participate in the Ford Fellow Program and was invited to work on Capitol Hill for former Congressman Xavier Becerra.
She currently works as the Director of Marketing and Culinary for D’Arrigo California and has been with the company for over 10 years. Claudia serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Coast YMCA, Sacred Heart School, is a member of the Salinas Rotary Downtown Club, United Fresh’s Produce Marketing & Merchandising Council and advisory member for CSUMB’s Women’s Leadership Council. She is the recipient of the Produce Business – Young and Smart Leaders on the Rise: 40 Under 40 Award, Salinas Jaycees – Humanitarian of the Year Award and is a recent graduate of Untied Fresh’s Produce Industry Leadership Program, Class 23, where she was selected by her class to be the graduation speaker at the United Fresh 2018 Convention in Chicago.
