King has 20 years of geotechnical engineering experience with an emphasis on soft ground engineering, ground improvement, and performance-based seismic design. King is a Professional Engineer and holds registrations in WA, OR, AK, AR, CA, KY, LA, SC. He has an M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. King has collaborated with USGS researchers to develop the national seismic hazard maps and served on the National Science Foundation NEESR review panel. He was also on the SEAW earthquake reconnaissance team investigating the post-earthquake and tsunami damages caused by the M9.0 2011 Great East Japan (Tohoku) Earthquake.
