Tres Bailey has represented Walmart on all legislative and regulatory issues related to the company’s grocery business since 2005. In this role, he maintains a particular emphasis on food safety, nutrition, sustainability, and federal nutrition programs. Tres was instrumental in Walmart’s launch of a major nutrition initiative in 2011 that focuses on making food healthier and making healthier food more affordable for the millions of customers shopping in Walmart every week.In addition, Tres works on international trade issues, including the WTO, bilateral trade agreements, preference programs and foreign direct investment. In 2017, he was appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture and the U.S. Trade Representative to serve on the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade.Prior to joining Walmart, Tres worked in the US Congress for Rep. Charlie Stenholm (D-Texas) and the House Agriculture Committee.
