Marc Mathews is a Research Associate with the Textile Protection and Comfort Center, within the Wilson College of Textiles at NC State University. Marc has worked with military, first responder and industrial personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing technologies for 20 years executing research, development and engineering projects to provide real world and practical solutions for users across various applications and industries. He served honorably as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist in the United States Marine Corps and was deployed to Iraq in 2003 supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Mr. Mathews has led, managed and supported Research, Development and Engineering efforts within academia, government and industry across the range of PPE applications.
