Shelaine has an M.S. from Frostburg State University in Applied Ecology and Conservation Biology and has a technical background in computer science, statistics, and aquatic ecology. Shelaine has supported projects for various federal agencies throughout her career including NASA’s Large Scale Biosphere Experiment in the Amazonia (LBA), NASA’s Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study (BOREAS), USGS National Biological Information Infrastructure and the Fire Research and Management Exchange System (FRAMES). She has more than 18 years’ experience managing people and projects and received her Project Management Professional certification in 2009. Shelaine currently serves the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Environmental Sciences Division as the Water Power Research Operations Manager and Principle Investigator on several hydropower related projects.
