Andy Flowers started his oil & gas career as a logging engineer working in international operations in North Sea, West Africa, Middle East and South America. He moved into research and development specializing in system design for field data acquisition, real-time systems, data integration, engineering modelling and remote communications. He became Manager of Analytics Program Development at ConocoPhillips in August 2017 where he is responsible for creating and implementing a program to increase data and analytics awareness and capabilities across the enterprise. Previously he was Director of Advanced Analytics at Marathon Oil where he set up a new group to leverage data science techniques to solve engineering problems in unconventional reservoirs. Andy graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sussex, and gained a MS in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. He founded the Advanced Analytics Alliance – a forum for sharing best practices with Oil & Gas operating companies and is member of SPE.
