ANDY BLYTHE has been a firefighter and a manager for Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service for nearly 23 years. All of his service has been spent in operational roles, with approximately 19 years as an operational commander. He is also a Marine Tactical Advisor and a Hazmats Tactical Advisor. As Station Manager, Operational Assurance Team, he was part of the team that examined the Kings Dock Multi-Storey Car Park fire from an operational perspective to look at what occurred on New Year’s Eve, December 2017, to see how the Service could improve and learn from the event.
