Flynt Jones is the Model Manager for Duke Energy’s Distribution Management System in Charlotte, NC. He also serves as Data Steward for Transmission & Distribution Facilities at Duke Energy. Flynt has over 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He began his career as a distribution field engineer in system design, operations, and supervision. He then served as a GIS software engineer developing, implementing and supporting power delivery applications. Flynt designed and implemented data models currently in use for Duke Energy’s GIS, OMS and DMS systems. He has chaired both the Oracle Data Model Special Interest Group and the GE DMS User Group. He currently serves on the project team for Duke Energy’s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). Flynt holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University and an MBA in Information Systems Management from the University of South Carolina.
