Michael Bailey is a Senior Staff Engineer at the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC). He has over 35 years of professional experience in the power industry and is a registered engineer in the state of Texas. Michael has served most of his career as a project manager and/or lead engineer on a variety projects in the areas of power system application development, transmission planning, transmission operations, power flow analysis, commercial & industrial account management, and power marketing and trade. He has served as an industry advisor on several projects including those sponsored by the DOE, EPRI, ERCOT, WECC, and Academia. Since joining WECC in 2011, Michael has led the Long Term Planning and Scenario Development efforts at WECC, focused on a 20 year planning horizon. In recent years, Michael has led WECC’s collaborative efforts to support the National Labs in the study of the Energy-Water-Climate Change Nexus as it pertains to the Western Interconnection.
