Andrew Ziegwied is the Scientific Sales Manager for L3HARRIS ASV the leading Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) and autonomous vessel control systems supplier to the defense, oil and gas, scientific, and survey industries having supplied over 100 systems including 15 unmanned conversions of manned vessels. Andrew is a University of Washington School of Oceanography graduate with extensive government and commercial consulting experience providing integrated instrumentation solutions with the international MacArtney Underwater Technology Group. His background includes field work and project management with Evans-Hamilton, Inc. and application engineering with instrument manufacturer Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc. Converting an existing vessel to optionally unmanned can provide a cost effective method for organizations to explore underwater intervention capabilities that unmanned systems could provide for a specific tasking or adding to the functionality of the existing vessels for seafloor and pipeline route survey, meteorology and oceanography, and structure inspection.
