In addition to the Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Dr. Dishman was awarded a Master of Science degree in Neurophysiology from the renowned Institute for Sensory Research at Syracuse University. Dr. Dishman is a Diplomate of the International Board of Chiropractic Neurology, and a Fellow of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology. He is the founding Chairman of the Academy’s subspecialty board examination committee for electrodiagnostics, the International Board of Electrodiagnosis. He currently is Dean of Graduate Programs and Special Projects at Parker University in Dallas, Texas. He is the course coordinator of a 300 hour Chiropractic Neurology Diplomate Program Presented by Clinical Neurosciences Institute, and accredited by Parker University. Dr. Dishman was also Professor at Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida for 15 years and was also Professor at New York Chiropractic College for over 13 years, where he taught courses in clinical neuroscience, anatomy and the profession’s first electrodiagnostics course for chiropractic students. He has over 25 years’ experience teaching physicians in the field of electrodiagnostic medicine and functional neurology. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Bioengineering and Neuroscience at Syracuse University. Dr. Dishman has published extensively in many prestigious international journals such as Spine, Journal of Neuroscience Methods, Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, The Spine Journal and Electromyography and Clinical Neurophysiology. He was awarded the prestigious “Scott Haldeman Award” for best original research paper at the Sixth Biennial Congress of the World Federation of Chiropractic in Paris, France in 2001. He is a past and research grant recipient from the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research, as well as the Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine of the National Institutes of Health.
