Daren Moss is Senior Vice President, Operations and Sustainability of Brixmor Property Group, a publicly listed Real Estate Investment Trust that owns and operates a high quality portfolio of open-air shopping centers, with more 400 retail centers across the U.S comprising approximately 70 million square feet of retail space. Daren is responsible for planning and executing portfolio-wide strategic operations initiatives, including ESG strategy and reporting, operational efficiency projects, utility management, tenant engagement, and renewable energy development. Additionally, Daren oversees environmental risk and liability related concerns nationwide. On the sustainability front, under Daren's guidance, Brixmor has significantly reduced electricity consumption by completing lighting efficiency projects at over 75% of the portfolio, reduced greenhouse gas emissions by over 30%, has over 20 renewable energy projects currently constructed or in development, and has completed pilot tests related to smart irrigation and HVAC management across the country. Additionally, Daren directly led the completion of the company’s inaugural Corporate Responsibility Report in June 2019. Prior to joining Brixmor, Daren was a Senior Hydrogeologist/Construction Manager at a national environmental consulting firm, responsible for managing predominantly brownfield redevelopment and transactions based projects, for a range of clients. Daren is a New York State licensed Professional Geologist and earned a Masters in Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University.
