Linda Erb is the vice president of animal care and training at the Dolphin Research Center Training Institute of Grassy Key, Florida. It is the home for a colony of dolphins and sea lions. Linda, a staff member since 1979, also serves on DRCTI's Steering Committee, leading and directing the institute's future. Linda's primary responsibility is the care and training of DRCTI's dolphins, sea lions and training staff. Linda helped define and incorporate DRCTI's relationship-based training philosophy. In 1985 Linda developed the first structured dolphin swim program called the Dolphin Encounter. Her years at DRCTI have given her opportunities to train and work with dolphins in a wide range of activities including shows, interactive programs, research, advanced husbandry, open ocean work, and movie and film work. DRCTI’s world-class education programs are under her direction and she played a key role in developing the institute's style of “edutainment” – teaching with the goal of connecting guests with the animals and inspiring conservation.
