Born in Mitchell, South Dakota, John completed his master’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado. John started Specialty Products Inc. for nine years as general manager & formulator; of cementitious fireproofing materials, polyurethane specialty foams, single-component moisture-cure urethanes, fast-set urethanes, and Polyureas. He wrote many of the papers and procedures for applications of Polyurea still used today. John has taught Plural component equipment throughout the United States, England, Japan, Puerto Rico, Australia, China, Singapore and New Zealand. John has created and presented several presentations & training classes at various company’s including SSPC, PDA, NAPCA and Spray Foam. In 1999, John started consulting for the Willamette Valley Co. in Eugene, Oregon. He worked with the Research and Development staff included advising the development of new Polyurea products such as caulks, primers, aromatic, aliphatic, and expanded fire rated Polyurea’s. He was instrumental in getting the Gusmer/Graco distributorship for Willamette Valley Co. John has 50 years in the heated plural-component industry, retired from SPFA Technical Committee and Senior Polyurea Equipment and Applications Specialist consultant with the Willamette Valley Company. Was COO of International Pump Manufacturing (IPM) patented 2 new OP pumps improving technologies. John developed, & taught the first PDA equipment training course, and the first Chairman of the Educational Committee. Presently on the SPFA Equipment Committee. John continues to create presentations and to improve our industry with custom High End, Variable Ratio, PLC controlled spray equipment without transfer pumps. Developed and Trademarked a plural component mechanical action Rackgun. John has 5 patents in the SprayFoam industry.
