Susan Giglia is the Director of Employee Health, Clinical Education and Infection Control for the Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNAHG), the nation’s second largest not-for-profit home health care organization servicing New Jersey, Ohio and Florida. Susan joined VNAHG in January of 2020 and soon assumed the responsibilities as the COVID-19 Response Team Lead Trainor, working to help ensure staff safety in collaboration with VNAHG’s organizational pandemic response. Susan oversees the orientation and staff development for all clinical staff in the homecare and hospice divisions of VNAHG, as well as infection auditing and reporting. Susan started her nursing career working on a respiratory and infection disease unit in a New York City hospital, providing care for patients requiring ventilator support and treatment for various infectious diseases. Susan began her home health career in 2001 as a Case Manager until she became a Nurse Educator for both homecare and hospice teams in 2015. Susan earned her Bachelor’s degree with President’s Honors and her Masters of Science in Nursing where she was awarded Nurse Educator with High Distinction Honors from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Susan is a current member of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). Susan lives in Monmouth County, New Jersey with her husband, two children and two dogs. Susan enjoys attending live musical theater performances and cheering on the drumline for the Rutgers Marching Scarlet Knights.
