Barbara Belony was born and raised in Haiti. Early in 1990, she immigrated to the US. In the past 12 years, Barbara has fallen in love with home care after working as a nurse for more than 20 years in various settings. Barbara began as an LPN, continued to earn a BS in nursing, and then pursued a master’s degree in healthcare administration along with a graduate certificate in-home healthcare management. She had volunteered in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake and planned to return and start her clinic there. Therefore, Barbara returned to school, earned her MSN, and graduated as a nurse practitioner in the hope one day she will return. Throughout the past 12 years, Barbara has managed weekend programs for two large homecare organizations and currently works as a nurse practitioner during the week.
