Paul Dykeman began his real estate career in 1990 with Roycom, a pension fund real estate advisor, prior to which he spent six years with an international audit and accounting firm. In 1996, he helped start Summit REIT and in 1998 was appointed Chief Financial Officer. In 10 years, Summit grew to become one of Canada’s largest REITs with industrial property assets of $3.2B generating a compound annual return for its Unitholders of more than 20%. In 2013, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Summit Industrial Income REIT, a TSX-listed REIT owning and managing a growing portfolio of light industrial properties across Canada currently valued at approximately $1.2B. In December 2017 the REIT entered into a joint venture relationship to develop, own and operate high-yielding, state-of-the-art digital data centres in key Canadian markets.
