Born in Newark, NJ, and graduated from Kean University (formerly Newark State College) in Union, NJ, Marion taught in the public schools in Newark and Columbus, OH where she earned the master’s and doctorate degrees from The Ohio State University. She has held teaching and administrative positions at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, the University of Virginia, and Fayetteville State University where she has served for 35 years in numerous positions to include Provost, Assistant and Associate Vice Chancellor, Director of the FSU Quality Enhancement Plan, Department Chair, Dean, and faculty.
