Theatre Projects


Millie Dixon is a principal consultant at Theatre Projects. Her background as an arts center manager allows her to approach a project from the client’s perspective. She is skilled in assessing and analyzing building conditions and performance equipment systems for renovation and restoration projects. Her recent projects include work on the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (Orlando, FL), Woolly Mammoth Theatre (Washington, DC), Tempe Center for the Arts (Tempe, AZ), Altria Theater (Richmond, VA), The Winsor School’s Lubin-O’Donnell Center for the Performing Arts (Boston, MA), and University of Iowa’s Hancher Auditorium (Iowa City, IA).Millie joined Theatre Projects from the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (Cerritos, CA) where as the director of operations, she oversaw all technical aspects of the facility from budgets and payroll to supervising city and contracted union technical staff. She was also the operations manager at the Capitol Theatre (Yakima, WA) and the technical director and stage manager at the University of Iowa’s Hancher Auditorium, and the University of Montana (Missoula, MT).She is a member of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) and the United States Institute for Theatre Technology. She is a key member of the IAVM’s Performing Arts Committee and she has earned a certificate from the IAVM’s Public Assembly Facility Management School. Millie received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design/Technical Theatre from the University of Montana.
