Jennifer McCarthy MAS, NRP, CHSE is the Director of Clinical Simulation at Seton Hall University, School of Health and Medical Sciences. Jennifer has been an active paramedic for nearly 30 years and became a leader in healthcare simulation over the past 20 years. Her strategic leadership integrated simulation within health profession curricula and enhanced competency assessment of student learning. She is the lead author of Simulation Success, a column in the Journal for Emergency Medical Services. Jennifer holds many positions with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She is an accreditation site reviewer, team lead and accreditation council member as well as the Chairwoman of the EMS Affinity Group and is a subcommittee member of the Ethics standards and Certification council. She has won numerous teaching excellence awards and serves on several state and national committees that address the advance the use of evidence based healthcare simulation. Most notably Jennifer was named one of the Top 17 People to Watch in Healthcare (201 Magazine, January 2015) and has received the EMS Career Lifetime Achievement Award (November 2015) presented by the New Jersey Department of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services and the New Jersey EMS Council.
