I am the previous owner along with my husband of Barnes Bullets and am a proficient rifle shooter, hunter, and pistol shooter. I have been so very fortunate to have hunted numerous places around the world and in approximately 25 different states. My experiences with hunting are very treasured ones and I am so grateful for them. Simply put – I love the outdoors. My husband and I Randy Brooks owned Barnes for over 35 years and then in January of 2010 sold the company to Remington Outdoor Company. We both worked for the company for 5 years after selling and then retired in 2015. I knew I had to do something to stay in the shooting industry and I found an organization called A Girl & A Gun about 8 years ago that is based in Texas. They have 120 chapters in 47 States and I signed up to head one up in Central Utah about a year ago. . The organization introduces women and girls to many shooting experiences and lots of other opportunities in the shooting industry. Since being involved I have fallen in love with pistol shooting along with AR shooting, USPSA shooting and 3 Gun shooting. I am a NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, Range Safety Officer, Certified for Personal Protection Inside and Outside the home, Central Utah Chapter Facilitator – A Girl and a Gun. I feel I am a proficient centerfire rifle shooter and love shooting all types of firearms but over the past 5 years I have pushed myself to take advanced classes on shooting pistols, because I want to be able to instruct the ladies I teach in the best possible way to help them feel comfortable with owning a pistol and being safe and proficient with it. I have done some competing with my pistol, shotgun and AR and I love teaching ladies how to feel comfortable with not only owning a pistol but being comfortable shooting them.
