After 24 years as Chief Financial Officer at the San Diego Convention Center Corporation (SDCCC), Mark retired from full time work in 2018 and began consulting for convention centers and performing arts centers. While at SDCCC, Mark provided overall administrative, planning, supervision and direction for all finance, accounting, procurement and most risk management activities of the Corporation, which for many years also included operating the 2,900+ seat San Diego Civic Theatre. Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and received his Masters in Business Administration from San Diego State University. He has an extensive background in accounting and finance and was awarded the Certified Public Accountant certificate while employed at Touche Ross & Co. He has been a longstanding and active volunteer on several committees within IAVM and has contributed more than 15 years of support to benchmarking and economic impact initiatives. Starting in 2013, for a period of six years Mark was a lead instructor at AIPC’s annual weeklong Convention Center Managers Academy in Brussels, Belgium speaking on a variety of financial and operational topics. Mark volunteers extensively within the San Diego community and currently serves on the Boards of four non-profit organizations.
