As a spa industry veteran with a passion for giving back, Doug Elman specializes in creating continuing education for massage schools, spas and professional organizations across the United States. Elman served as director of training for Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, where he was responsible for all education within the chain, which included more than 300 spas. He spent time as a massage therapist, providing massage therapy for clients such as the crew and television personalities of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Prior to entering the massage industry, Elman served for more than 11 years of experience as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He has also been active in working with people who were diagnosed and suffered from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
