Mark Chandler is President of ACT Solutions Corp. (Adaptive Cosmetic Technology Solutions), a formulation design consultancy founded in 2012, serving the cosmetic and topical pharmaceutical industries. His company leverages product design approaches including "Adaptive Aesthetic Design," "Advanced Emulsion Solutions" and "Formulating for Efficacy," with formulation laboratories in Delaware and Ohio. Chandler has been in the cosmetics R&D industry for more than 30 years, most recently serving as skin care applications manager for Croda Inc. He has also held roles in sales, marketing, strategic planning and acquisitions and R&D. For more than 15 years, Chandler has taught courses for the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) on cosmetic formulation, cosmetic raw materials, liquid foundation emulsions, practical basics and theory in emulsion technology, and low energy emulsification. He is also a research instructor in the Cosmetic Science and Formulation Design program at the University of Toledo, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Chandler was awarded Fellow status by the SCC in 2014, and he has presented technology throughout the United States and in more than a dozen other countries on five continents; published numerous articles and book chapters; and has been granted three patents.
