Jeff Smith is the pioneer of rigid enclosures. Jeff’s career in marine canvas fabrication spans for more than 45 years and includes many other innovations including track to track enclosures, double tracks, solid welt, etc. Jeff has taught the art of rigid enclosure fabrication since 1992 and his students include some of the most prominent shops in our industry. Jeff wrote many articles regarding enclosures including, “About EZ2CY Enclosures”, “Options in the Enclosure Market”, “UV Factors to Consider”, “Mystery of the Enclosures”, “Purchasing an Enclosure” and more. Jeff patented the rigid enclosure in 1989 and has patents pending on acrylic specific to the marine enclosure market. He continues to innovate and is the founder and administrator of the 4U2SEA Fraternity.
