Thomas Koerner is Canadian Solar’s Vice President of Global Sales. With an extensive technical and business background, Mr.Koerner has held various leading management & board positions in the solar industry for over 15 years. Mr. Koerner joined Canadian Solar in December 2012 as the General Manager for its US operations. In 2014 he became responsible for all Canadian Solar activities in North, Central and South America. Since 2016, he has been responsible for all global sales activities for Canadian Solar’s Modules and Components division. Prior to joining Canadian Solar, Mr. Koerner was the General Manager North America for Astronergy Solar (the solar division of the Chint Group), responsible for all business-related activities including sales, marketing and market strategy, where he introduced Chint Solar / Astronergy to the North America Market. Mr. Koerner also supported Astronergy in its worldwide product strategy and product marketing activities as the Head of Global Product Management/Marketing. Mr. Koerner worked for Astronergy/Chint for 2 years (01/2011 – 12/2012). Prior to this, Mr. Koerner worked for Schuco Solar in Germany as their Division Manager PV and authorized signatory (Prokurist) of Schuco. As a member of the solar management team of Schuco, he oversaw all global engineering, product management, product marketing, service, sales controlling, technical support purchasing and all go-to-market activities. Mr. Koerner also supported the build-up and growth of the solar activities in the US for Schuco Solar (Schuco Germany: 2001-2008, Schuco USA 2008 – 2010).
