Marc Claybon, J.D., LL.M., is the Cannabis Industry Tax Services leader at Crowe LLP, one of the largest public accounting, consulting, and technology firms in the U.S.

Mr. Claybon advises on complex tax matters such as §280E and business structuring for a wide range of cannabis industry organizations, including medical and adult-use dispensaries, cannabis growers, seed-to-sale integrated operators, ancillary products manufacturers and service providers, cannabis industry private equity funds, and individual investors.

Mr. Claybon has over 20 years of tax experience equally split between public accounting and private industry. His industry experiences include leading a private equity company’s tax group, tax counsel at a Fortune 50 company, and director of tax planning, tax controversy and transfer pricing at a Fortune 200 global energy company.

Mr. Claybon’s experience includes responsibility for providing tax consulting and compliance services in many areas of taxation including federal tax planning, income tax compliance, complex transactional matters, accounting methods, periods and credits including inventory matters, federal and state tax controversy, accounting for income taxes, and US transfer pricing.
