Dia Gainor

Dia Gainor is the executive director and a past president of the National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials. She's worked for two state EMS offices for 27 years, 19 of which was as the Bureau Chief of EMS for the state of Idaho, and also 12 years of field experience as a paramedic and firefighter specializing in vehicle extrication. She was the first chairman of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation’s National EMS Advisory Council, a 2009 EMS10: Innovators in EMS award winner, and the recipient of the 2010 James O. Page/JEMS Leadership award. In 2012, she was presented with NHTSA’s Public Service Award by Administrator David Strickland for “outstanding national leadership in enhancing the collaboration among highway safety, public health, transportation, and EMS.”
