Steve Barram joined ISI as the company’s Chief Executive Officer in 1989 shortly after his brother Peter founded the company. His responsibilities include overseeing strategic direction, development of major customer relations, structuring major business transactions, and the sales and marketing of the company. Steve is also involved in ISI's emerging international business.Prior to 1989 Steve had an active law practice in Portland, OR. His practice focused primarily on business and corporate law, specializing in tax and securities law. In the early 1990's Steve served as a member of the American Electronics Association Project Steering committee for the National Workforce Standards Project conducted under a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. Steve also served as one of Senator Mark Hatfield's two Oregon delegates to the 1995 White House Conference on Small Business. He remained involved as Congress and the administration considered the issues in the technology and information area forwarded to them by the White House Conference. He has testified in front of Congress on patent bills under consideration. ISI is involved in several trade organizations. Steve currently serves as a member of the American Oil Change Association (AOCA) Board of Directors. Prior to that Steve served as a board member on the International Carwash Association (ICA) Board of Directors. In 1981, Steve graduated with a J.D. from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College. In 1978 he graduated from Gordon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Steve remains an active member of the Oregon State Bar Association.
