President and Principal, Utility Telecom Consulting Group, Inc., a consulting firm providing telecommunications planning, engineering/design, project management, FCC licensing, and implementation oversight services to the utility and energy industries. Sonny has more than 34 years of experience in the telecommunications and utility industry. He has a strong background in planning and designing telecommunications systems with emphasis in microwave and fiber optic transport systems and additional background in telemetry, SCADA, system protection and telephony in the electric and gas utility environment. He has helped clients develop TDM to Packet technology migration and technology selection strategies and recommendations. He has implemented major telecom construction projects in the utility environment in the Project Manager or key contributing team member roles. Sonny’s management and supervision experience enables him to translate complex and oftentimes detailed technical networking requirements into executive, corporate, and organizational terms for the client to use to facilitate the approval process. His ‘hands-on’ approach and open-minded attitude enables him to interact effectively with management, technical, as well as field personnel. His solid background and experience is coupled with strong verbal and written communications and organizational skills – key success factors towards providing his clients with sound, quality, and effective advice as a Consultant.
