Willi Schmidt




Willi was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. He has been involved in hunting for as long as he can remember, starting by following his Biologist father into the field, migrating to upland and waterfowl and gradually moving up to Big Game. He started bow hunting in 1992 and loves archery, but is one of the rare hunters who enjoys hunting with every method. Willi is also an ardent conservationist who has a first-hand love of our world’s precious landscapes and wildlife, and believes strongly in the importance of protecting them for his children and grandchildren to come. After recently moving from his home state of Colorado, he currently lives in Bozeman, Montana with his wife, Sherry and together they have two children ages 19 and 22. He loves his family time and is also a passionate fitness junkie and golfer. Willi was a banker for 14 years before leaving to pursue his passion for the outdoors. He maintains some outside business interests, including a Nebraska hunting property and some real estate. Prior to starting the TV series, “Pure Hunting” in 2010, he guest and co-hosted, “Winchester’s Whitetail Revolution”, “Beretta’s Waterfowler’s Edge”, and Mike Hanback’s “Big Deer”. Outside of his TV hunting responsibilities, he has archery hunted South Africa, CO Bighorn sheep, elk hunted 4 states in one year and enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, much of it in the outdoors. He is proud of “Pure Hunting” and showing that pure hunting opportunities still exists for those willing to put in the effort to experience them.
