Clairmonte Cappelle

Clairmonte Cappelle is a seasoned workers’ compensation risk management executive with leadership experience in occupational health, workers’ compensation managed care, excess workers’ compensation claims management, and public entity risk pools. He is the Executive Director of Puget Sound Workers’ Compensation Trust, a group self-insured public entity pool consisting of 34 school districts representing 54 million worker hours, making it the largest group of its kind in WA state. Other leadership roles include vice president of workers’ compensation managed care at University Hospitals, an Ohio-based health care system, and vice president of claims at Midwest Employers Casualty Company, an excess workers’ compensation carrier. He focuses his efforts on creating value for employers through programs and strategies aimed at reducing total coat of risk. Cappelle also serves on the Executive Board of Washington Schools Risk Management Pool, an alternative risk financing model aimed at developing safe and effective school systems in which students achieve and succeed. A native of Guyana, South America, earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He is an avid cricket fan and trivia enthusiast and loves to travel, particularly within the Caribbean region.
