Tyra Hilliard, PhD, Esq, CMP is an attorney and professor whose expertise is in legal and crisis preparedness issues for the meetings, events, and hospitality industries. She is one of only two people in the world who is a licensed attorney, has a PhD in Hospitality, and is a Certified Meeting Professional. Her 25+ year meetings industry career has included management roles in hotels, travel, destination marketing, associations, catering, law, and academia. Dr. Hilliard was honored for professional achievement as an Educator by the Professional Convention Management Association Education Foundation and received national recognition for her contributions to best practices initiatives with the Convention Industry Council and Meeting Professionals International. She was also honored by her peers and the Convention Industry Council as an #CMP30 Influencer. She currently teaches hospitality and business courses at the College of Coastal Georgia.
