Barbara Zamora-Appel is a Program Analyst in the Governments and Trade Management Division at the U.S. Census Bureau. In her current role, Barbara serves on the leadership team responsible for developing the innovative tool Census Business Builder, a new data access tool that presents selected demographic, business, and other data in a user-friendly, map-based interface. She conducts training on the Economic Census and other Census Bureau data products and services.

Barbara has extensive experience with program management, business development, marketing, communications, and outreach having spent 16 years in the private sector.

Barbara has strong advocacy and grassroots experience working with groups to increase stakeholder interest and participation. She has held numerous leadership roles in organizations and is a volunteer with a number of organizations to help them achieve their mission and goals. She participates on panels to encourage Hispanic students to attend college and serves as advisor to other non-profits.

Ms. Zamora-Appel holds an MBA from the University of Maryland University College, a Bachelors Degree from Goucher College, and a certificate on Business in the European Context from the University of Antwerp.
