BROCK ARCHER is the former assistant chief for the Hopland (CA) Fire District. He is a multifaceted California State fire training instructor and teaches vehicle extrication, swift water, and rope rescue at the National Fire Protection Association level. He is a principal committee member of NFPA 1936, which keeps him involved in extrication tool manufacturing standards.
