Emily Trapp is the Director of Instructional Media Services at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Her role at New Paltz includes managing a small AV staff that includes a Master Crestron Programmer, Asset Manager, AV Technician, Operations Manager, Evening Supervisor and student employees. The campus has an enrollment of almost 8,000 students with 170 learning spaces on campus equipped with technology under a maintenance schedule with an annual budget tech-fee budget of $300,000. Emily works as a technical advisor on most AV projects at the campus and is involved on several technology committees such as the Campus Committee on Educational Technology (CCET), Classroom Management Committee, Accessibility Inclusion Team, and the local union. She served on the SUNY Technology Conference Board for twenty-years and several positions in the SUNY Educational Technology Officers organization (EdTOA), including two years as Chair. Outside of work, Emily is a Board Member for an annual Hardscrabble Celebration that takes place each September in Red Hook, New York. The highlights bringing famous bands to play for the public with no admission charges. She enjoys photography, her St. Weiler dog, renovating their old house with her husband, gardening, and sewing.
