Douglas W. Barton, P.E., is a principal telecom engineer for Southern Company and has over 34 years of experience in telecom engineering and business development. His experience includes optical and microwave network design and he is currently involved in transitioning Southern’s transport network to IP-based platforms. Mr. Barton is a registered Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and a Master of Business Administration from Samford University.
