Ms. Tamara James is Assistant Professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine. She is a certified professional ergonomist with a master's degree in Human Factors Engineering and a bachelor's degree is in Industrial Engineering. She directs the Ergonomics Program at Duke University and Health System, having responsibility for hazard evaluation and training for upward of forty-five thousand workers involved in every aspect of a medical and teaching institution including medical research and laboratories, health care delivery, office work, information management, food preparation, maintenance, grounds keeping, and housekeeping.
