Lizeth has been a part of Local and Council PTAs and Texas PTA serving in diverse roles with progressive responsibilities ranging from committee member to Director-at-Large. Some of her experience in PTA includes helping set the strategic direction of Texas PTA, represent Texas PTA externally, and serve on standing and special committees. She helped to develop resource guides, presentations, and scripts. She was a key team member that created the Spanish version of the training materials. She provides leadership, training, and guidance in English and Spanish to Local PTAs and leadership organizing new PTAs. As a member of the Programs Committee, she chaired the sub-committee to develop the “Kids First: My Unique Abilities” program; a turnkey program giving students and their families insight into the daily lives of those with unique abilities. Most importantly, she is a mom to a son with special needs.
