Michael Hoonhorst, Managing Consultant and Ergonomics Engineer at VelocityEHS’ Humantech, oversees large-scale ergonomics initiatives in the industrial manufacturing and aerospace industries and helps organizations build internal ergonomics expertise using software solutions. His clients include ABB, Eaton and Pratt & Whitney. Prior to joining Humantech, Michael was a graduate assistant at Western Michigan University, where his focus was teaching ergonomics and statistics, and performing ergonomics research for local companies such as Haworth, Stryker, and Bronson Hospital. He also interned in the Ergonomics department at Haworth, where he assisted in the design of new office seating. Michael received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Mathematics, and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering with a focus in Occupational Ergonomics, both from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He has achieved recognition as a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE).
