Esther Becker is a partner and the office leader in the San Francisco, CA office of Oliver Wyman Actuarial Consulting, Inc. She specializes in reserving for most property and casualty lines of business. She also has expertise in pricing, modeling and alternative risk financing as well as international insurance issues. Esther is the managing consultant on actuarial assignments for a variety of insurance and self-insured organizations.Esther joined Oliver Wyman in 2013 and has over 20 years of actuarial and insurance experience, both as a corporate and consulting actuary, and underwriter. Esther has performed extensive work with self-insured workers’ compensation and liability programs; assignments ranging from funding studies for self-insurers to certifications and reserve and rate analyses. She’s provided reserve analyses and Statements of Actuarial Opinions for captive insurance companies and self-insured companies for regulatory purposes. Esther regularly presents on actuarial topics to industry organizations, Boards of Directors, risk managers, other insurance professionals, and general audiences. Education: BS in economics, concentrations in actuarial science and management, cum laude, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
