Terry is a Certified Safety Professional and ASSE professional member who has focused his 35-year career in global manufacturing on implementing inovative solutions for protecting employees. Holding positions over the last 25 years as Vice President of Facilities and Director for EH&S for Vermeer Corporation in Pella Iowa Terry has dedicated his carrier to protecting workers on and off the job. Managing a primary care and occupational health clinic Terry understands worker compensation and the impact of not being proactive toward injury prevention. Over the last four years, Terry has been working with Iowa State University and global manufacturers taking the lead in the industry to quantify the physical benefits of working with and without the aid of exoskeleton technology. Terry’s work is benefiting all sectors of manufacturing and professional services through articles published in the peer review journal for Professional Safety (2016“Exoskeleton Technology – Making Workers safer and More Productive” & 2019 “Exoskeletons as a form of PPE for Injury Prevention”. Over the last 4 years Terry has been presenting the findings of his shop floor EMG and motion capture performance testing, involving real workers preforming their jobs, at national conferences. The growing body of research collected by Dr. Jason Gillette of Iowa State University and Terry is bringing exoskeletons main stream as a form of PPE for injury prevention. Terry is on the ASTM F48 committee for Exoskeletons and Exosuits and holds two BS degrees from Illinois State University in Occupational Safety Engineering and Industrial Technology.
