Mr. Derek Newbold is the Business Unit Head for the Grand Bahama Port Authority and Port Group Limited, where he is responsible for research and analysis, client relations management, marketing and promotions and investor programmes. Throughout his career he has held a number of key positions with international conglomerates like Hutchison Ports, formerly Hutchison Port Holdings, working across a broad spectrum of business divisions, including, airport, container port, cruise port and industrial park operations. He is also the architect behind the development and branding of the internationally recognized Invest Grand Bahama campaign in addition to numerous entrepreneurial initiatives. His background is in Business, Entrepreneurial Strategies, Accounting Management, and Finance. He is a past ranking member of the Economic Development Committee of Grand Bahama, and a current member of the utilities and business licensing regulatory committees for the city of Freeport. Mr. Newbold holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh Napier and international certifications from institutions such as, The Wharton School of Business, Ivey School of Business, Canadian Institute of Bankers, and MTA University.
