Ali Beck is an Academic Coach at the Tybee Island Maritime Academy. Over the past ten years Beck has taught a diverse array of subjects, populations, and grade levels including elementary school, middle school, high school language arts, computer science and scientific research. Beck is a founder of the Savannah Chapter of Girls Who Code, whose mission is to close the gender gap in technology. Through Girls Who Code, she provides computer science education to girls across Savannah in the form of camps and after school programs. Beck believes that teachers should be advocates for equity and reform in education and is currently focusing her efforts on initiatives that address equity in STEM education.
