Dr. Carlyn Buckler does research and teaches courses in the public understanding of science, plant science communication, and digital technologies at the School of Integrative Plant Science at Cornell University. Her background as a researcher in plant genetics and in science communication has led to a career in facilitating leadership and entrepreneurship skills for Cornell students, as well as teaching about, assessing and facilitating the public understanding of science. Her course, "Cannabis: Biology, Society and Industry" covers the plant biology, pharmacology, legal, industrial, entrepreneurial, economic and societal opportunities and issues regarding plants in the cannabis family. This course also creates the foundation for the Hemp Science Masters in Professional Studies program at Cornell University.
