Rick A. Schmidt, Director of Infrastructure Modernization Mid-Markets, Black & Veatch Management Consulting, LLC Rick leads the Infrastructure Modernization Mid-Market Practice at Black & Veatch Management Consulting, LLC, which provides technology planning and associated consulting services relating to various types of infrastructure modernization programs. Rick has led dozens of strategic technology planning projects and has authored more than 150 RFPs ranging from AMI, MDM, DMRS, and CIS and other systems. Rick also has a strong communications background and has deep understanding of Field Area Network communications such as 802.16s, Private LTE, commercial cellular, Unlicensed mesh, AMI as the FAN and the new IoT communications media and legacy technologies. For most of these engagements Rick performed as either for project manager or lead consultant. He has an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin lives with his wife Julie in Madison WI and has two adult children.
