Regional VP of Regional Land Acquisition
TRI Pointe

Trece Herder is a fourth-generation home builder with a reputation for being passionate about evolving herself and coaching others to perform at higher levels. She believes that only by acceptance and engaging life’s obstacles can one fully develop and really live. Today, she serves as the Regional VP of Land Acquisition for Tri Pointe Homes, managing land acquisition for the Bay Area and Sacramento divisions covering 16 counties. Previously she worked with Lennar, Cal Atlantic Homes (formerly Standard Pacific) and Centex. Trece’s extensive portfolio of work, spanning 20+ years has been focused primarily on land acquisition, entitlement and project management, including several 1,000+ unit, large masterplan projects. Trece’s passion commenced right out of college as she started her own home building company, Homes by Herder and pioneered the first Greenhome in Tucson, AZ in partnership with Tucson Electric Power Company and Southwest Gas Corporation. The home profiled not only energy efficient and sustainable design features but also state of the art technology including recycled bottle carpeting, grey water recycling, solar power, foam filled masonry and many home automation features. Over an 8-year period of building production and custom homes she earned the reputation of delivering innovation and excellence in homebuilding in addition to being the only woman to own and operate her own home building company in Tucson. Her entrepreneurial spirit spiked again during one of the nation’s worst economic downturns, Trece started Wisteria Land Group in 2008, a privately held company specializing in providing a full-range of land acquisition, entitlement, redevelopment, and project management consulting services. Clients included Standard Pacific Homes, Tri Pointe Homes, Encore Capital Management, PG&E, Brooks Street and McKinley Capital Partners.
