Ron is a lead Global Architect for Cisco's Global Mobility Specialist team. Ron is working with Service Provider and the Enterprise around 5G and IoT solution development and deployment models. Along with 5G, Ron has done extensive work with Global Smart Cities and Service Provider Public - Private Partnership models, Wifi 6, Mobile Security, Analytics and various monetization models for 5G, IoT and Wifi. Ron is also looking at 5G use case development for verticals such as health care, sports and entertainment, retail, etc and forward looking areas such as BlockChain and how this can be leveraged for 5G, IoT and Security use cases. Ron has spoken on many panels and industry forums such as Wireless Broadband Alliance and written numerous white papers such as The Connected Athlete at CES and MWC events and GSMA panels such as Connected Car Security and blockchain. Ron works with MIT Media labs startups and other Boston and NYC base tech startups consulting and mentoring. Ron is also Member of Mass Challenge – world's largest startup accelerator working with these startups and volunteering time in advisor and funding award and judging roles. Ron enjoys volunteering time and presently working with disadvantaged 3rd and 4th graders in the South Bronx, Mother Hale Academy, to expose them to the opportunity in technology and his program is called “Beyond The Fences”. Ron has been with Cisco for 20 years and prior worked at Nortel, BayNetworks and Wang Labs. Ron is a former Boston area guy presently living in NYC on the hidden seafaring gem of City Island in the Bronx and can be followed @rmalenfa on Twitter. Ron majored in Computer Science University of Lowell, Franklin Pierce and MIT Sloan Executive program for Technology Innovation.
